Instructors
Martial arts must create instructors or the art will cease. Instructors pass on the techniques and attributes of the art to future generations. We are honored to have a number of highly qualified and enthusiastic instructors for all ages of students.

Kyosa Nim Jaci Kinner
KyoSaNim Jaci is the Director of Operations at Crusader Martial Arts, currently holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is a certified Rape Prevention Instructor since 2004 which she has taught over 200 women and children how to keep themselves safe. In addition, she will be testing for her 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do this coming January 2010. She also teaches the Ladies Only class on Wednesday evenings from 6pm - 8pm. She loves to travel, bowl, watch movies, teach, swim, bike ride, take walks, read, relax at a beach, is S.C.U.B.A. certified and would love to travel to Hawaii, Alaska and Europe.

Kyosu Nim Lisa Smith
Kyosu Nim Lisa Smith is a 3rd degree black belt, and has a black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan Sa Bu Jang (cane). She has been training at Crusader for almost 9 years and teaching for almost 7 years. Kyosu Nim Lisa began teaching a children's class, and now teaches a family class on Wednesday evenings. Currently, she is training for a master's degree in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan. "Karate is an excellent way to get into or stay in shape and it's a lot of FUN!"

Kyosa Nim Duane Smith
Kyosa Nim Duane is a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and a 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do; working towards 4th dan and mastership. He has been at Crusader Martial Arts since August of 2000. "I love and care deeply about my family - not just my immediate family, but this wonderful God-filled karate studio."

Kyosa Nim Amy Smith
I am a 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and 1st degree in Tae Kwon Do. I have been involved with Crusader for over 6 years. I really enjoy the martial arts, but my passion in it is spreading awareness about self-defense. I love helping women learn how to protect themselves in a way that works, brings confidence, and is centered on God.

Kyosa Nim Mick Setsma
2nd Degree Black Belt working towards his 3rd Dan. Kyosa Nim Mick has over 26 years martial arts training including sparring, weapons, and grappling. He has a well-rounded background in martial arts with a foundation in Shorin Ryu Karate plus successful ranking in state and regional karate tournaments. Kyosa Nim Mick gives all his karate success to God. He is an active member of Kicks for Christ Federation and serves on the Crusader Martial Arts Board of Directors. In addition, he leads the Crusader Adult Men's Ministry.
Kyosa Nim Mick has a passion for Christ and provides excellence in karate instruction that is typically fun for all age ranges. He is happily married with two awesome kids and a new German Shepherd puppy (that you might see at Crusader)
Janggwan Nim Zachary Schutte
2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan, and a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan. Janggwan is the accepted Romanization for the Korean title "Minister of". In January 2009, Kyosa Nim Zachary Schutte was officially appointed by the Kicks for Christ Federation as Minister of Korean Culture. Janggwan Nim Zac is a member of both the Dream Team and the Crusader Martial Arts Demonstration Team. He has been studying martial arts for over 10 years including much tournament and competition experience.

Kyosa Nim Geoff Pavey
Kyosa Nim Geoff is a 2nd Degree Black Belt, and 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He has over 10 years Martial arts Experience in Tae Kwon Do & Tang Soo Do. Favorite weapons are double sticks (Tan bong) and Bong. Enjoys intensive sparring & grappling. Christian Martial Arts is my lifelong passion.

Kyosa Nim Travis Waldhart
Kyosa Nim Travis has a 1st Dan in Tang Soo Do, a 1st Dan in Tae Kwon Do, and a black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan Sa Bu Jang (cane). He also plans to get a black belt in Tang Soo Do weapons. His career goal is to own his own Martial Arts studio
Kyosa Nim Chanise Love
Kyosa Nim Chanise has a 2nd Dan Tang Soo Do, and 1st Dan in Tae Kwon Do. She has been studying martial arts for 9 years. Her favorite weapon is the double fan. She hopes to obtain her 3rd Dan graduating high school and wants to study medicine at the University of Michigan.
Kyosa Nim Jeff Mathieu
Kyosa Nim Jeff has a 3rd Degree Black Belt Tang Soo Do. Currently working on 4th dan as well as working on black belt in weapons (which is his favorite part!) He has been with Do Ju Nim Bill for about 12 years having begun with him when he was just getting started. "It has been a fun and exciting experience."
Kyosa Nim/Sifu Ryan Lake
Kyosa Nim/Sifu Ryan Lake has over 10 years of martial arts experience and is a 2nd degree black belt in both Tang Soo Do and Jow Gar Kung Fu. In addition, he holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a Level 1 Black Sash in Kuntao/Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. Kyosu Nim/Sifu Ryan has taught both children and adult Tang Soo Do classes. Currently, he teaches a Kung Fu class on Wednesday evenings. He is training for a 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan. "Work to become, not to acquire."
Kyosa Nim Tea Vranish
Kyosa Nim Tea has a 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan and a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do. She is currently working on her 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan and 1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Weapons. She loves teaching and watching people grow in confidence and skill in all areas of their lives through the study of martial arts. Joining the martial arts has been one of the best decisions of her life and she absolutely loves it.
Kyosa Nim Tim Ross
Since becoming a member of the Crusader Family in 2005, I have earned a 1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan, 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do and currently studying for my 2nd degree in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan. I made the transition from football coach to teaching martial arts on Thursday nights. Helping people learn the capabilities of their mind and body is one of the greatest feelings for me as a instructor. Except for my wife and God, instructing is my new found love.
Kyosa Nim Jessine VanLopik
Kyosa Nim Jessine has a 1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and a black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan Sa Bu Jang (cane). She has been studying Tang Soo Do for over 3 years. Hand in hand with her faith in Jesus Christ, Jessine believes that hard work and effort is the key to success and no one is worth giving up on.
Kyosa Nim Annette Hollstein
Kyosa Nim Annette has been studying Tang Soo Do at Crusader Martial Arts for over three years. She has been an instructor for over a year. She has a 1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and and a black belt in Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan Sa Bu Jang (cane). In the fall, she plans to attend GRCC to pursue the culinary arts program. She loves kids and enjoys working with them. Most of all, she desires to do the best job possible in whatever she does.
